Hello guys,
I have a set of DT 990 phones given to me. They appear to be quite old really nice condition but the cable has a 1/4" plug on the end instead of a screw off adapter plug like modern ones. Not sure when they were made.
Anyways The left driver doesn't work no buzing noises or anything. I disassembled them and looked for any obvious signs of damage and found blue wire from driver to the round connector board is not only shockingly thin but it had a part of the insulation missing. I decided to desoler both wires to the driver and solder in new ones. Unfortunately this did not bring the driver to life.
I tried using a multimeter to test the wires and contacts and it seemed fine but I only tested for continuity.
I am wondering what else to check out so I can repair these cool phones without shelling out $100 for new drivers (which is insane expensive)
