Reggae/rap phones

Dub is another matter, but a lot of reggea recordings sound pretty thin IME (I tend to listen to older and/or live recordings which may account for that). I was disapointed by the way the HD555 handled much of that material but then again I'm not a huge fan of that model anyway.

I can see how one might like the presentation of the 555 better than that of the 580, but to my ears the 580 has at least as much bass impact as the 555... do you have the 120 ohms version (I have the newer chinese version)?

So do you reccomend the MS-1 or HD555. I think I'm going to buy the HD555

I think I'm going to bite the bullet and get the HD555 becuase they got awsome reviews, very comfortable(huge issue to me), geat for reggae apparently, and have a good soundstage. I think these will be my best bet. And also, its all trial and error so I need to start the trial now.
