My first "real" post after the short introduction.
I am in the hunt for a neutral/reference (ideally as close to the way the music was originally recorded) sound signature DAP. I would prefer high detail retrieval capabilities with large sound stage. I don't tend to listen to my music too loud as with these IEMs I am expecting excellent sound isolation. I do not need any smart capabilities, WiFi, or Bluetooth as most of my
I came across Cowon Plenues, Sony WM1A, iBasso DX170, and Chord Mojo (DAC). I have an older non-flagship Android Motorolla but not sure if I want to use that as the source. Thus, Mojo would be out as I will be needing it for portability reasons. I pretty much am leaning either towards the Cowons or WM1A. I read the Cowons have a faster UI where as the WM1A slightly edges out on my sound requirements.
My budget would be $500-$600CAD.
Any help in this search would be greatly appreciated. Of course, I am open to other options as well. Mostly need a DAP that puts sound quality first before the features.
