Recommended earpads for Grado SR60

Your best bet is to try them with stock pads first and decide for yourself if you think they are comfy or not, then go from there. Comfort varies from one person to the next, and you can't take everything you read here at Head-Fi as the gospel (contrary to popular belief)

The most important adjustment you will make that will contribute to comfort level is the proper stretching of the headband.

With that said, I found the SR-60s with stock comfies to be supremely comfy once the headband was properly stretched/adjusted. But you will really need to decide for yourself.

Good luck.

socket modded Senn HD414 pads are my favorite Grado pads. to my ears, they are more comfy and sound better than flats, bowls, comfys, and doughnuts.

I can hook u up w/ a socket modded, Grado black pads if you want.

Well I just ordered them with stock pads so I will see how they are.

I'm used to Sony MDR V150 headphones.

I went from a sony mdr v250 to a grado sr-60. I prefer using bowls with them.

I am quite happy with the comfort of the stock comfies. I will be getting radioshack pads today and quarter modding them to see how I like them. Honestly the comfies are soft enough to be very comfortable for long listening (at least in my mind).

Yo man, your new sr60s won't disappoint!!!
I thought the stock pads were satisfactory and they get better(softer) with time.
mine were getting old though, so i checked out options and sprung for the
Sennheiser H-19545 earpads (theyre yellow) from B&H.
they are a little smaller and fit tightly on my cans and sound better than the stock in my opinion, they sit closer to the ear and are a little cleaner sounding.
I have heard about people cutting quarter-size holes in the middle of the pads to open up the sound too... i dont know if im going to or not....

You could always go for the yellow Senn pads that freid posted.

They're only 3.95, so even if you don't like them, it's not too big of a deal. I ordered myself a pair for my new MS-1s that are coming in soon.

The stock SR-60 pads are acceptably comfortable - the issue is a lack of soundstage, and obscured detail due to the driver being covered with thick foam. Bowls sound great, but they made the driver screen grind against my ear - my solution was to put some small earpad-type pads over the drivers, and the bowls on over them. If your ears are shaped anything like mine, this is the most comfortable and best sounding option (though I haven't tried the 414 pads...)

I agree the issue with the stock pads is not one of comfort but sound. I have always thought the SR60 to be very comfortable (but I do have a small head). What prompted me to buy bowls was the advice that they will extend the SQ into the realm of the SR80. So I will give you the same advice (when you are ready to try something else, def enjoy them as they are initially) buy the bowls thru TVJ, first time customers get a very good discount on first purchase so its not that bad. I went from stock to bowls and I don't even know what I did with my stock pads- and to be honest I don't care. Bowls win for SQ.

Like every post above, I've heard that the HD414 yellow pads are pretty comfy on grados
