Recommendations - mp3 player with custom EQ?

My iPod lacks custom EQ, and the Zen Micro looks like a good substitute.

Are there any other players with larger storage? I'd like 20 to 40gigs, if possible. But of course, custom EQ is the main issue.

The x5 has a 5 band EQ. It comes with 6 preset settings + a user's setting, however all can be adjusted to your preference. Nice feature.

Another vote for the Karma. It is less expensive and has a 5-band parametric equalizer

These players look (and no doubt sound) great.

I noticed that they're used with Windows software, for the most part. I have a Mac. Is the Karma Apple compatible? I didn't see any text to indicate that.

Yes but you have to transfer with the ethernet cable hooked up to the dock (i think)

And you need Windows to update the firmware, but yes for day to day use it's usable with the Mac. Just don't expect it's Java based lite software to be similar to iTunes.
