Recommendations for Shure's SE535 and SE846

Value is a personal judgement, and I don't think anyone else can make a value judgement for you. Some people would NEVER pay more than $20 for headphones. Some people would NEVER pay less than $500 for headphones. What I can say is that price/performance is not linear. As you move up the mountain toward summit-fi, the curve gets steeper. The Abyss is not 2X "better" than the LCD-3. You might find many people that think the LCD-3 is "better" than the Abyss - even though the LCD-3 is much cheaper. The SE846 is not targeted at people looking for an IEM that is 2X "better" than the SE535. Buying the top-of-the-line from any major brand is always going to cost you a large premium. They always make you pay for those bragging rights.
