Hi,

This is my first post...
I received an SL-CT800 from Hong Kong, but I can't charge the gum stuck batteries because:

1: The plug is a different shape than US plugs
2: It requires 220 volts, versus US 120 volts.

The first I can alleviate w/ a converter, but the second I'm unsure what to do with.

I know some of you have the Japanese SL-CT790 (for the line-out) so I was wondering how you got around it.

Thanks for your help.

Nice player indeed!

From what I've read in a review, a 4.5V, 600mA (0.6A) adapter, with a suitable plug should do the trick, if you have one like this lying around from another CD player, it would probably work.

Either that, or indeed a converter from 110 to 220 VAC.

Wait a minute! I thought it was, "Welcome to Head-Fi. Sorry about your wallet!"

... or maybe I'm new enough that I'm confused.

on the back of the 2 plower plugs, there shall be a small label saying details of power in (110V for 790 and 220V for 800) and power out. If the details of the power out of the 2 plugs are similar, you should be able use the 790 power plug to charge the battery of your 800.
