Apologies if this is an overly simple question, but I am stuck and would appreciate some help.

I have an AK SR15 and would like to use it as a transport via USB to my DAC/AMP, the Burson Timekeeper.

I bought a micro B to USB C connector, but the AK doesn’t even register any usb connection. It charges, so obviously that port works. I have also connected my phone via the supplied cable to the Burson, so that also works.

Is it that I need a special audiophile cable to allow my DAP to send out data?

Thank you very much in advance!

Thanks. So not any connection will work, but the cable has to be designated as OTG?

(Sorry for the beginner question)

Update:

I found out that not all cables are bi-directional grrr.

The one I bought was uni-directional, from usb c to micro b. It seems most are like that, I assume as most phones are usb c these days and older devices take in data via micro b.

Hmm well I am off to see if this is even possible, from micro b into usb c.

Thanks
