Now I have modded the 3 channel amp from fred amps to run on 18v; its the rechargeable version which had one rechargeable 9 volt nimh 200mah battery.
The two 9 volt rechargeable (150mah) are connected in series so it feeds the amp with 18 volts; it works great and sounds really good!
Now there is one small issue; it only lasts 1 houre and 15 minutes before it runs out.
Being a portable (albeit on the large side) I cannot add more batteries in paralel and the biggest nimh 9 volt I could find is 300mah.
That would give me about 2.5 houres

I would like to end up with aprox 4 or 5 houres, and that would probably be possible using (non) rechargeable li-on; but the down side is that the fred 3 channel amp can only charge nimh afaik.
Is there anyone who had the same issue and if so; how did you solve it to get more battery life on 18 volts, without losing the option to recharge?
