Yup. Steve Hoffman initially hated the K701 but apparently changed his mind after he went with ALO Audio and he also has Equinox recabled HD600.

I have not directly compared recabled headphones myself, I would look forward to such a comparison though.

Yeah, it's AMAZING how someone held in such high regard can be fooled so easily by a quick cable change. Whatever. I'm not looking for gear recommendations from the guy; only that he continues to churn out high-quality CD releases!
