So,
I am considering a set of small headphones for the office and was set on buying the PX200s. However, I then got to thinking that I have always wanted some active noise canceling headphones for trips/etc. Since the noise canceling circuitry is not built-in to the PXC300 (it sits in an external enclosure), I was curious how the sound of the PXC300 is as a standalone headphone. In other words, am I getting a headphone quality similar to the PX200, and the extra cash goes toward the noise canceling? Or, is the headphone on the PXC300 a lesser headphone, and the bulk of the cost is going into the actual noise canceling. I would likely use the PXC300s without the external noise canceling while in the office and use the noise canceling while on trips.
Anyway, what do you all think?
