Problem with my Accuphase T-101 Tuner

Sep 29, 2012 at 11:26 PM Post #2 of 4
I just repaired two of these tuners today

C5 in the power supply is the problem with these tuners.  This is the capacitor for the relay power supply which is a 22uF.

First, the tuner will have intermittent problem with the muting in on position,  After, the relay will buzz and will break with time.

Changing C5 and sometimes the relay are easy.  You can place a small plastic relay inside the faulty metal one .

Hi
i just saw your posting on the Accuphase T-101 muting relay repair.
Can you be more specific as what you used to replace the original relay?
I was told the original relays not available anymore, did you find that to be the case as well?
How did you find that the C5 capacitor was defective, did it show signs of  being bulged at all?

Hi and sorry to revive this old thread but I'm pretty sure my T-101 has the very same issue. I'm just wondering what would be a good replacement for the reed relay? Been trying to find out but haven't found anything yet. Thanks in advance and kind regards, Daniel
