Problem ripping FLAC and WAV in Foobar

I have been having issues ripping FLAC or WAV files into foobar2000. I have the latest version. I use two laptops and on one it works perfectly fine on, this is computer at work. However my computer at home will not let me rip any files, it always asks for me to find Flac.exe. I don't understand why this is because the other computer just worked without me finding anything. I know Foobar has an encoder. I would like to burn to 32 bit WAV if possible, but I can't seem to get it to work. Could someone let me know why this is?

Flac.exe doesn't come packaged with Foobar 2000 as far as I know.

Many people recommend against ripping from foobar because it doesn't have error correction. EAC is often considered to be a much better option.

Sure, it takes a little while to set up, but then it's extremely easy to rip a CD. Load a cd, do a couple keystrokes, make sure the track names are correct, and go! Then just leave it while it rips and encodes.

The problem is you're not using EAC.

I use and love foobar, but never in a million years would I rip with it, it is after all a media player. I have to object to the many ignorant people using iTunes, Winamp, WMP to rip CDs. They may rip, but doesn't mean they're any good...Jack of a lot of trades, Master of none.


Why is using an exclusive ripping program like EAC hard? Its a free download and as Overlord linked too, its a one-stop job to set-up.



To rip a CD:


Put CD in drive.
Open EAC...maybe wait for EAC to recognise it[seconds].
Press F5 to detect gaps[20 seconds] create non-compliant CUEsheet(with gaps) in new folder.
Press Shft-F6 to rip, in my case in 'Secure Mode' comparing CRCs, in 'New Folder'.
