Most “professionals” I know use active loudspeakers… if you go to Sweetwater dot com there are not that many passive loudspeakers… 🤔 I don’t understand this product 👀

It's for studios. But being advertised here for due diligence. Not even close to a RME "pro" audiophile cross-over 🤭

Right! 🤭 I am not sure which studios will buy a $4,320 headphone amplifier to power their DT 770 pro headphones… it doesn’t make sense. If you are recording musicians they might even be in different rooms and the cable will push the amp to the floor if the musicians are that far apart. I don’t think Chord did their homework with this product - sorry 🫣

They just plug them into the headphone output on the mixing desk

It could be a decent difficult headphone driver with these specs:

Yes! I bet it also sounds awesome as an amp itself :) (well for the price it needs to sound great). I don’t expect it to be warm but maybe it is not that clinical.

You'd hope so. But there's a metric ton of top tier headphone amps that don't have 4 simultaneous drivers for 1/4 to 1/2 the price.
TOTL tube amps to be had for the equivalent.

Seems half the investment is in passive near-field amplification, which if purchased for, I understand the investment.

When is the new matching dac coming out?
I heard that it would be a dac with recording functionalities for the professional market. I am really interested in learning more about that one 🎵 nothing official yet. They talked about it last year with Marcelo in SoCal Canjam I believe. Maybe in 2025?
