Hello! New member here. I’ve recently become…. obsessed? 😂 with portable CD players and I’m looking for one that I can haul around with me and use at home connected to a receiver in my bedroom.

Ideally I’d like one with digital output so I can connect it to my DAC, and a wireless remote control so I can be lazy and control it from my bed. I’ve seen a number with digital out, and some with remotes, but very few that have both.

Can anyone recommend some models that I could check out? If it has a remote & a regular line out jack (not digital), I’d be open to that as well, as long as it has a decent internal DAC.

Thanks!

Maybe expand your search to portable DVD players. Those can have remotes, some have batteries, some might have digital out. Little clunky but I guess it will depend on the size and your use case.

If you're looking for a portable CD player with both digital output and remote control, the Sony D-NE1 is a great option to check out. It offers both features, allowing you to connect to your DAC and control the player from your bed. Another option could be the Panasonic SL-SX430, which also provides decent sound quality and digital output, though you'll want to double-check compatibility with a remote. For a larger option, the Teac CD-200 might work as it has digital output and a remote, but keep in mind it’s more of a home model than a true portable player. These should give you the flexibility and convenience you're after!
