Poll: Sony R10 Vs Stax

on the first page, one guy writes: "Omega II > HP-1 > R10." that's not too hard to believe. another guy says stax over R10 for classical. that's a bit of a surprise.

Having only heard the R10 and high end Stax at a meet, I much preferred the Stax. There were a couple of R10s at the meet. I really have no idea about set ups, but I assume they were good.

So, is the R10 comparable to the SR-007, nowadays ?

Not in my opinion - and I have heard them both side by side, with pretty comparable apliification, and outrageous sources. Maybe I just don't 'get' the R-10.

There is a nostalgic feeling to resurect very old threads now, yeak this htread is from 2001 probably running in a 80Gb harddrive and on the first 486 Jude had....the info here is completelly obsolete nowdays, we have new amps, a lot more owners of R-10 and evne a new model of Stax that sound very different from those...Why not opening a new thread and let other old one die....

Well said!
I don't see the point in resurrecting a thread from 2001. Things have changed since then...
