Hi, I brook the standard earphones of my cowon iaudio 7 and I need new ones
Generally I will use it in metro, in gym, biking or running, so I will not use it ampled (but I hope my iaudio is powerful enough, usually I set volume control to 20) , I like listen to rock music
Because sometimes I can’t use it with the right care, I wonder to buy 2 sets, one cheep for hard work (it must be comfortable and durable, not microphonics) and one with better sq and isolation (but I will use it in the gym too, so don’t want vast too much money)
Here some I am thinking about, with pro/contra and price (with sh fees to Italy) I can get them

The cheap one:
-YUIN OK3 Earphones 70$: I really think to buy these ones, they are cheap, their sq is similar to more expensive PK2 (I need an advice about these 2), I hope they are ok without ampl, I think at last one earphone set can be in my equipment
-WESTONE UM1 it’s comfortable, but low sq, so better go with yuin

The good one:
-Head-Direct’s RE2 (110$) have a short wire and maybe need an ampl (please, I need an advise here)
-Altec Lansing inMotion iM716: I can get it for only 100$, but I am not able to depod it (maybe I can get a resistor adaptor for 20$) and I don’t know if my cowon is powerful enough to ampl it (please, I need an advise here), iM616 doesn’t need an ampl, but their sq is lower
-shure 530: everyone reviews them very well, I can get them on ebay for only 300$ but the cable issue is too big to afford
-sleek audio sa6: they seem very popular at now, but they are a little bit expensive (about 230-240$ with sh fees) and they seem frail (but cable is replaceable) to use for sport

Please, any advice about the phones I have listed or someone else?

Thank you and best regards

Hmm...UM1s have bad SQ?

RE2s get favourable reviews around here, though there are similar options that are currently cheaper on Amazon, e.g., Denon 551s, Etymotic ER-6is. Also, if you're getting the Altecs for $100, you should probably get the Etys instead. Cheaper, assuming you're in the US. The Shure 530s seem like too huge an upgrade from your stock buds.

OK, suggestion time: It sounds like you want something easily powered (sans amp) and durable. If that's the case, I'd say it's either Westone UM1 or 2, or Denon AH-C351 or 551 or 700/751. This is assuming you want IEMs, which might not be the case since you suggested Yuins. As far as I know, both Westones and Denons are good SQ-wise and tough. The Westones are more expensive in general, but might have better sound isolation.

Does this help?
