Photoshop Contest: Draw Thom Yorke from Scratch

I thought the artist got the lazy eye pretty well, even though it's just barely visible. Pretty amazing work there. I have some Rage Against the Machine jamming on my portable rig right now so I didn't even notice Karma Police coming through on the speakers, lol.

Now the artist just needs to do a series of animations, Thom spazzing around on stage for something like Idioteque.

Hmm, I've never seen coloring done that way before. Pretty interesting.

I think the ones done in Microsoft Paint are even better to watch. The Photoshop ones are still amazing, but come on, Microsoft Paint?

Photoshop offers more control, but at least from my perspective to use those features requires much greater ability in process thinking, which tools to use first and why, etc. The palette in paint makes it much the same as with traditional brush and canvas painting, except instead of the ability to mix the colours on the canvas one has to recognise and pick out the colours they want on the palette

I know Photoshop offers alot more options, and to know when and how to use them is a skill of it's own, but to be limited with what Microsoft Paint has to offer is on another level. Especially when teh work is somewhat equivalent. The lowrider was an animated style rendition, but I've seen other that are just astounding. When you can't select an area to blend and fill, it's just pure skill of choosing the right color and everything.

None the less, both are a pleasure to watch.

Personally I was listening to the new Dalek album when I was watching that video. They went together extremely well to say the least. Could just be me though. I would use that as a wallpaper if I could find just the finished picture.

I would love to see a good David Bowie portrait done in the same manner, or maybe Peter Gabriel.
