I just received my Philips 963SA. For some reason, it plays sound and video perfectly when playing a DVD, but for some reason, plays no sound using an SACD or CD. The disks I tried were Dark Side of the Moon (SACD) and DMB - Crash (CD). I just can't figure it out! Any suggestions? I have the 963 hooked up to an Onkyo receiver (the one that comes with the HTS650 home theatre system) using an optical cable, and S-video.

Thanks,
Ryan

Ryan:

Try connecting the 963 using the RCA outputs labelled "front". Your receiver probably can't deal with the 963's 128/k upsampled signal. So you need one pair of RCA interconnects connected to "front"output on the 963 to an input such as "cd" or "tape" on your receiver and then switch that on in the receiver.

Good luck

You can't send SACD audio through the digital out anyway, so you'll need hook it up to the one of the recievers inputs with a pair of analogue interconnects.
