Hi, I'm looking for an "as small as possible CD player" with good sound quality. Is there anyone who has (/used to have) PANASONIC SL-CT810? What's it like in your opinion?

Is there any other CD player that you could recommend (Note: I DO NOT want a sony CD player)?

P.S. Is it only the sony players that have these sound limitations in Europe?

You don't want the Sony because of the volume cap? AFAIK the volume cap is by law in Europe therefore all European DAP/PCDP will be capped. You can always purchase an American/Asian version to avoid the volume cap, or there are some websites that will tell you how to hack your player.

Do a search on Panasonic PCDP's and you get some previous comments. I've a CT700 and for a CD the size/weight is excellent. Probably only bettered by the high end Sonys, DNE10/20.

As for SQ, the opinion are pretty mixed. From my own searches through the forum SQ is ok, but not out standing, if using the headphone socket. For better SQ you have to look towards using a line out and an amp. So units with line out analog/digital are popular for that reason.

Incidentally my CT700 is quite loud, so its probably not capped.
