I've not heard them before, but i've talked to the local distributor and they're coming to aus soonish so i'll have a listen when they arrive, because I've seen people ask about them before.. they're said to sound very good

lol sorry i cant be more helpful than that.. are you in the market or just curious?

edit: I have an Original cd player and headphone amp, so i'm keen to hear the amp.. also, it has a remote which my current amp doesn't have... i'll listen to it against the monoblocks that i'm in the market for

I may EVENTUALLY be in the market, so I figure as there's very little info anywhere on it, I'd better get started looking.

If i remember than I'll try let you know how it sounds when i hear it... if I like it enough compared to the monoblocks that i'm looking at then i may see if i can borrow one for an in-house audition, cuz it looks niccce

I'm not sure yet... either Ming Da MC300-D or Ming Da MC845-C, depending on if I need the extra power or not (8w vs 20w)...

I haven't got the slightest clue how they'd compare in sound with the Original, since they're a fairly widely different application.... but the Original looks like it has at least a lot of potential to sound very nice, and would be a cheaper and easier solution (and it has a remote)

on second thoughts its probably way overpowered for my high efficiency speakers. My current 22w amp is way overpowered even.. nonetheless i'll at least give the AT-2008 an audition out of interest. in the end I think my speakers are made for SET

It's a strange world when headphones need more power than speakers

I haven't heard the monoblocks yet (which is why i haven't decided on one yet... i'm not yet sure if i'll buy *either*, but i'm fairly confident they'll sound nice so i just have to choose the one with the best sound for my speakers, and a preamp that matches). The local dealer's getting em in at the same time as the Original, so maybe i can let you know how they sound also
