I owned a cd 3400 about 6 yrs ago. I listened through sennheiser 545 headphones. the sound was beautiful, smooth, warm and detailed. It finally broke.
Anyway I have just purchased 2 optimus units, the 3440 and the 3530. I received some feedback on the 3440 but am now wondering about the 3530. Is it comparable to the 3400 and is it better than the 3440? Thank you for your replies.

I own them both and there is a big difference between them. The 3530 is pretty sorry. Without going into specifics the 3530 distorts real bad at moderate levels. nuff said. doug
