Sorry if this is the thread, please move if it is.....

I downloaded this player to my phone thinking it was worth a try as it has USB out capabilities. I am waiting for my NX2 to come is so trying different players hoping for a winner that the NX2 can just make better. I love FooBar, but I don't see USB out so still looking.

Now back to the Onkyo player, I tested on both Dynamic and Planar headphone; both with and without my tube amp...and found it just boring to listen to. Everything sounded flat and like the music was slowly being suffocated with a pillow over its head. I was hoping that the EQ section would help, but noooooooo it just got worse. So it is no longer on my phone. I have just started to enjoy better headphones and using amps so maybe I am wrong, I just wanted to share what I heard.

If one of you have found a way to make this sound bright and lively please let me know :).

ok, so to clarify, i was listening to different android music players to find one I liked that had a USB out option for future use,At the time I had just ordered the topping NX2. Does that make more sense?
I had no idea what the NX2 was now I see it is a portable dac/amp so it does make more sense. I didn't know Android music apps needed to have a USB specified out to send to the OTG cable to use a external dac/amp.

I know what you mean. Some people rave about that app, and I'd say the only thing that stands out to me is that it is louder than the stock android usb audio driver. If I play music to my usb dac / amp from Google play, it's quiet. From onkyo HF, it's louder. I tend to have the eq switched off entirely as with it on (default mode is 'flat' I think), I'm not happy. Basically, I don't fully understand the hype, but I do like the volume.

I think most people pony up for usb audio player pro, as it has the loudest usb driver going.
