Hi,

My friend told me a few days ago that there's a way to let two persons listen to one iPod. Something with a special connector which is able to connect with two headphones.
I haven't heard about this at all, so can somebody tell me things about this?

Ideally, something like this is what you'll need...

Premium Gold-Plated Stereo Y-Adapter

If you or a friend tend to listen at loud volumes (which isn't advisable btw) you may want to consider getting a fellow head-fier to build you a cheap headphone amp (such as a CMOY) with dual outputs so there is no loss in volume if you and a friend want to crank it. However, I have heard that the ipod's internal amp is relatively powerful, so just buy a cable and try it out.

you could make a good one fairly easily. just read the interconnect sticky, add two female mini connections on the end verses the one male one.

i hope that made sense^.^

This one looks like it was made to match the iPod. There were cheaper options suggested in this thread, but any of them should do what you want to accomplish.

No. I read recently that there is no difference in sound quality with gold plated connectors...the only real advantage is that they reisist oxidation.

Contrary to what you may be lead to believe on these fine forums, I have serious doubt that any ol' Ratshack cable will degrade sound quality to at the very least, something that is barely noticable with a portable source.
