Hi, probably new here.

I got stuck with my audio set-up and lookin fot upgrade towards better bass with more life headphones

Currently
Xonar Essence stx
Creative z5500
Logitech z623
Sennheiser 598

None of it sounds good for me

Target

Good, loud over ear headphones for gaming/movies/mp3s/CDaudio with good scene, bass and overall good sound quality.
Genre: almost everything - from hip hop to semi instrumental Pink Floyd. Both Still DRE and Brendan Perry Wintersun
I'd like to keep XE stx.

Listening to S 598 bores me - no kick and too loud outside
z5500 and z623 - overall good and loud but lacking middles (I love how they sound but on 2/3 volume - way to loud in apartment)

I had a good set-up in my car - bass was rich - I felt the power but everything was well balanced (but even trebles had it's power that thrilled) - it was cheap and almost "no name" - 100 $ JVC cd/mp3 player with 6 stock speakers.
It was like a combo of power, surround sound, middle tones and highs and it worked great with good quality mp3's. More party like than audiophile but with decent quality.
I'd love to transfer that feeling to over ear headphones.
I hope you get what I'm looking for
Price range: 50$ up to 300$ (it's wide, I know but I'm sure there's sth on the market that fits)

Best regards
James

The Sennheiser HD598 might be slightly boring sound, to some.

Have you disabled the motherboard's on-board audio? in the BIOS.
Tried the Unified Xonar Drivers.

Get the Audio Technica ATH-A900X closed headphones, more "life" in the audio.

Replacing the op-amps (operational amplifiers) on the STX might bring more life into the audio.

Thx for reply

I'm looking for brand new headphones.
Onboard audio disabled, original OpAmps, will try Unified Xonar Drivers.

New ATH-A900X way to expensive to risk disappointment (400$ in Poland) :frowning2:
Anything cheaper?
