Ok,first off I DID use search & went through several threads but didn't find any real answers..
I have about 30 hi res downloads from HD Tracks,in various bit rates, on my Lenova ideapad 1i laptop, stored on VLC Media Player, streaming to my SimAudio 240i integrated amplifier via USB..USB cable is latest version Pangea Premier,4 meter length...In the Tools section,Codec Information clearly shows FLAC-96 or 192 Hz.@24 or 32 bit on all of the downloads..
The problem is I can't figure out how to actually play them as Hi Res,only getting 48 kHz resolution on my amp..I have looked through various settings menus but find nothing to allow outputting anything other than standard CD quality...
Can you folks show me HTH to get these playing in full available resolution?I would really appreciate it..Thanks much, take care...

You can do 2 things.
Almost all operating systems run at a fixed sample rate as they support multiple audio streams. Windows is no exception to this rule. In the audio panel, you can simply select the desired default e.g. 24 / 192. This means that al audio will be resampled to this rate. https://www.thewelltemperedcomputer.com/SW/Windows/Win7/USBDAC.htm

A better one is automatic sample rate switching. This requires a media player supporting WASAPI in Exclusive mode. Don't know if VLC supports this. Exclusive mode means only 1 audio stream will play (your media player) and as a consequence it can change the sample rate at will. https://www.thewelltemperedcomputer.com/KB/WASAPI.htm

Media players like MusicBee or Foobar support WASAPI/Exclusive https://www.thewelltemperedcomputer.com/SW/Players/MusicBee/MusicBee_audio.htm
