I wanted new speakers. there is no choice but to overhang my shelf on the long sides by about 2". They are only 9-1/2" wide. Surface is not perfectly level. Issue is my cats will jump on them. I have no other choice should I get these. I just wanted to know if, given this they are likely to topple over? thank you. more of a physics question I guess LOL.

Hi,

You can try velcro which clamps pretty well, and removes when you are done. More intensely you can install eye hooks into the back of the speakers and connect them via rope, bungee, etc. to something stable. As long as they have a clear thread you can put a flat head screw in place of the hook so its not seen when you don't need. Resale will take a hit however.
