free, are you kidding? all we have around here are some low-key people performing at our local park. we have a shakespeare company, but all they perform is A Midsummer Night's Dream, so it gets repetitive.

Yeah I missed all the ones in my neighborhood this Summer so far, including Spoon, argh. Man, I'm so out of it. Sometimes it's worse in the city, because SO much is going on that you lose track!

Gotta luv them free concerts however like anything free in NYC, it's can get ugly and crowded. I'm definately a member of team free.
I waited on line for almost five hours for Free Aimee Mann and Buddy Guy tickets. For a chance to see them in an intimate sit down theatre was all worth it. (third row, center seats)

OH YEAH it's july, not june 11! Still a chance to Spoooooon!

Thanks for posting that list. I may make the 5 hour drive south and attend some.

GOD, I miss NYC and environs (Long Island, Jersey beaches & shore points)!!! Ohio just doesn't cut it (been here 12 years- wife from Cleveland). Lake Erie is a wastewater dump and mud puddle compared to some of those nice salt-water beaches. I miss Central Park and The Village/Soho too. OK, done ranting.

Why did it have to have a chance of rain on the shows I wanted to see?
Joan Jett, showers then cleared. (must of been packed, it was pride week)
Spoon, I got soaked, ruined an Ipod, went home to change, went back to
only tape 30 mins of a 45 mins show. It was still crowded but not packed,
nice amount of personal space if you're in the back. No seats for this show,
but I heard the booker T. show had chairs. (like the a. mann show I saw)
Going to see what's the deal with the castle clinton tickets thingy for next
week's Drive by truckers show.
then maybe dave brubeck, may be crowded. but going to see ricky skaggs.
