I need help choosing between two sets of headphones.
I don't have a lot of money at the moment and I would like to choose
between these two.

Sennheiser HD555

or

AT ATH-AD700

Which one is the better set of cans?'

Feel free to make your own suggestions, but I'm
trying to keep my price close to 100 dollars.

Thanks for helping a noob in advance.

Depends on your preferences. The AD700 is very crisp and clear with huge sounstage but isn't very "thick". It doesn't have a lot of bass and presence to it. Still, a remarkable headphone for the money. I haven't heard the HD555 (I just bought it).

I sold my AD700 and bought the JVC RX-700 for $30 because it was more fun for me to listen to. I liked the AD700 for jazz and classical but I decided I like to listen to everything including jazz and classical out of the RX-700 more. Plus its closed, so I don't have to worry about annoying my wife and coworkers.
