Hey!
atsmile.gif

New to audio here, just got a pair of AudioTechnica ATH-AD700X, I USED to be crazy about metal till I bought these and found myself underwhelmed.

Till I suddenly sound youtube videos sounding exceptionally good.. at the silliest things like the sound of a skateboard.. or someone knocking a wooden door..

While my music taste HAS widened more than considerably since then, I see there are plenty of threads for music.. BUT.. nothing.. absolutely NOTHING on soundscapes..

Because I suddenly realised that I'm listening to weird things soundscapes..

Rusted metal pole creaking in the wind
Sound of wind in the mouth of a cave, At the summit of a mountain
Car engine sounds.. Indicator sounds.. The door closing
Sounds of various stuff falling on wooden floors

It's hard to describe these.. But.. I THINK I'm beginning to understand the difference between a music lover and an audiophile
While listening to music.. There's so much more in there!
The sound of fingers against the string..
The scratching of the pick on the strings
The breath of the vocalist.. Good recordings even contain those.. You know the crackling sound when you move your tongue, the saliva.. Or the throat opening and a sudden burst of air comes out with no voice just before the voice comes in..

My ears are completely new to ALL THESE THINGS.. And lots more.

Howmany of you guys can relate to that? And.. if you can, recommendations/links to good soundscapes would be great!
