Anybody else have these? I'm really interested in getting these considering there $15 price and comparison with headphones three times more expensive.

I took Steve up on this one and got a pair. Wow, they are fantastic for $15. I can't compare these to $60 Beyerdynamics like Guttenburg does, but among similarly priced they are easily the best sub-$50 throwaway on ear headphones I've yet heard. Last I had the MEE HT21, and these Monoprice just blow those away. Really nicely balanced with punchy sub-bass. Very smooth with no harsh treble. Detailed and relatively spacious. No midbass bloat that you might expect were these put out by the likes of JVC or Skullcandy. Really really impressed. I'm not a basshead by any means and find these to be incredibly fun to listen to. I'd be willing to pay much more for this SQ.

I'm on board. Small and light, easy to drive and fun, spacious sounding with some decent treble presence and a little sub-bass is worth checking out. Top it off with the new cheaper shipping rates and NOV11(11% off comes to -$1.65) they came to $15.33 shipped.

I also heard the older version MEE and they weren't have bad vs. the competition at the time. i'll compare them to my Philips which are lighter at 99grams vs. 128grams and are rainproof which is a big selling point.

Ok lads i'ma need a lil help pls. I have £100 to spend. I like the grado sr80e and the marshal major 2. What do I do??

Neither, i got 2 options from my own experience.

1 (Value) - Sennheiser HD201 and topping Nx1 amp = £41

2 (Quality and Value) - Philips SHP9500 and Fiio A3 amp = £136

You wont need an amp for either one BUT it will it definitely give them dogs a better growl.

Got my pair today. Agree on most of the mentioned points and don't have much to add to all the positive reviews they are getting :)

Come in plastic bags inside of a white cardboard box. Genric, no frills that protects but doesn't add to the price. first look say cheap and generic looking but solid and light in a good balance or ratio. The headband padding is plenty and seems above the price. The pads are quite decent for the price. Maybe slightly better than first gen HT21. Cable is thick enough, a bit rubbery, and has a small L plug with a nice strain relief. The head band is actually solid but the lightly pebbled plastic look is the only thing that looks $13.34(what I paid after code). I've seen worse cables on the AKG's like the K430 and it's brothers and you'd have to spend over $50 most time to get the ample, comfy padding up top.

Very interesting as my Philips SHQ5200 are voiced the same way. Better and more refined but same signature and the little Mono's are airy enough to hold there own with the semi open backed Philips as far as stage.  I paid $50 for those and they are a bit lighter and rainproof so they are great esp. for the upcoming winter. The Mono's will be good as well since they are so cheap you might not worry about putting them in harm's way whilst the Philips is built to be tough and take bad weather. great they have a similar fun sound like they are brother's almost.

As far as the first listen, I agree they are above the HT21. Even above the lower Senn and $50 Shures by a bit. Not gonna put them up with pricier stuff but $50 range this should be among the best. Maybe not quite a SM P21 but about $25 cheaper and competitive. I bet the KSC75 lovers will get a kick out of these!

I'll wait till the pads break in and be able talk about the true isolation but outside of that(and the ho-hum aesthetics) they tick most all the boxes...

Solid build - check
Cheap price - check
Comfort and stable fit - check
Performs well in many areas - check(including stage and separation/layering, detail, balance, easy to drive etc.)
Fun factor - check

These should be the next big knock-around or commute cans. They fold flat, have the mic/control, and are small and comfy and easy to live with. Maybe just spend a few bucks on some sort of case and you are all set. They should thick about adding a decent case and a few color choices and making them $20.

I didn't even think to add much here regarding build quality. Definitely get what you pay for but by no means bad quality on these. I like Monoprice's non-flashy style though, if you can call it style at all. For the price, these impress and that's all that matters. While I feel they're decently put together, if they break, it is not the end of the world to buy another.

Clamp depends on head size so it will vary. I find it just right to stay on well but not be uncomfortable in any way. No long term listening yet.

They are 125 gram plastic portables so I think clamping is exaggerated like a few things in the review. If you find any more than a possible minor issue that you'll get used to after use and any stretching of the band then you are kind of a wussy if the tiny little headphones bother you, lol. I have half my portable audio devices weigh more than these phones. A plastic headband barely any wider than my pinky finger.

I paid like $13.34 so I actually dub these Monoprice the Monk of the portable on-ear world!

Actually just got a pair of the Monks and need to run them in but I like the Monoprice better and the Monk I doubt will never thump like the Monoprice. Monoprice should win for the commuter as it has a mic, isolation, and is easier to drive than the Monk. $15 vs. $7.50 or get both since they are cheap, lol!

After about three weeks with these I can't say enough good things. These are truly magnificent lightweight and cheap headphones. These are going to blow up on tech blogs like the Monoprice 8320 did a few years ago.

I've never owned the Porta Pro so I cannot say. Though I do know that the Monoprice here are closed whereas the Koss open, so they will surely differ. I can say that the Monoprice have awesome and punchy low bass impact, much more than I ever expected for $15. My best comparison is with the Meelec HT21 on ears, which sound positively bass anemic compared with the Hifi. Now I am no basshead and actually prefer balanced signature. The Hifi has quite an enjoyable balance. Like Cnet says, they sound far better than their price would suggest.
