I’ve modified quite a few pairs of headphones but fancied a change with a new build. I settled on the 32ohm 50mm Beryllium driver that’s similar in spec to the one fitted to Denons flagship AHD9200. I’ve tried out a few cables and these silver wires work best. The Headphone cups are constructed of a wood frame with acrylic baffle, metal headband framework and a leather headband strap. The overall cost of the parts was just under £200 and a total build time of less than one hours work. A bargain when you consider this wouldn’t be out of place alongside a lot of sub £1500 retail price models.
