I think some just add drivers for the sake of it - marketing and to drive the prices up. I’d rather have 1 - 3 and so something that actually fits well, than 25 and a pain in my ears
Gen 1 was great in its day but obsolete today. Gen 1 was $1,000, now you can get The Penon Globe which IMHO is better than the gen 1 for about $230.It'd be awesome if someone who has listened to both the 1st and 2nd gen would make a comparison between them. I was just in the market for a used 1st gen, and have read mixed reviews on it lacking clarity/separation and the higher frequencies being a tad too sharp.. then the 2nd one came out. So I'm really interested to know how these aspects have changed on the 2nd gen. I've also heard the 1st gen had great musicality otherwise.
I posted some impressions here: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/beyerdynamic-xelento.827372/page-167#post-17223491Any comparisons between OG and 2? I cant find any fr of the new ones online.
Very very curious.
Could you expand a bit more on this? Was actually really interested in both of them? Could Globe be better?Gen 1 was great in its day but obsolete today. Gen 1 was $1,000, now you can get The Penon Globe which IMHO is better than the gen 1 for about $230.
Blessing 2 is better than the Xelento OG and 2. Xelentos are very nice but they lose to the todays chifi market. The times have changed.Could you expand a bit more on this? Was actually really interested in both of them? Could Globe be better?![]()
