With the Astell & Kern AK100 Digital Audio Player you will feel the phenomenal realism of Mastering Quality Sound (MQS) or high-definition lossless music through 24bit/192 kHz sound processing that cannot be heard through a standard CD.

What is MQS (Mastering Quality Sound)?
When comparing MQS to Compact Discs, the MQS music files used during the mastering process in recording studios (24bit/192kHz) contains 6.5 times more information than a CD and results in a more original, precise, and enhanced sound. Data is extracted 192,000 times per second.

The AK100 by Astell & Kern Meets the 5 criteria of Hi-Fi Audio
The Astell&Kern MQS (Mastering Quality Sound) Portable System meets the demanding criteria of Hi-Fi audio even from its small size and portability.

THD + Noise (Distortion): The lower the THD + Noise signal rate, less distortion is heard. The Astell&Kern achieves a 0.0009% distortion signal rate.

SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio): As the signal-to-noise ratio increases, the clearer the sound becomes. The Astell&Kern signal-to-noise specification is 110dB

CROSSTALK: The higher the number in the crosstalk specification, the higher the isolation in the L/R channels develops. The Astell&Kern has a crosstalk specification of -120dB.

Frequency Response: The frequency response specification of +0.02 to -0.02 in the Astell&Kern provides a clear degree of sound volume from Bass to Treble.

Jitter: With smaller figures representing irregular tremors of the signal waveform, the better the device the soundperforms performance. The Astell&Kern has a Jitter specification of 90PS.

With a receiver and the Astell&Kern, audio enthusiasts will appreciate even more various genres of music. Use the touch interface of the built-in 5-band equalizer to delicately find the tone you desire.
In addition, the change in frequency response can be monitored through the graph implemented displayed in the equalizer. Touch the screen to adjust the value of each band and the changes to EQ can be confirmed through the graph.

96GB of total memory - The Astell&Kern is equipped with dual Micro SD card slots and supports up to 96GB of total memory capacity.

To playback 24bit/192kHz files and since they are large size files, it is essential for the Astell&Kern to have a high-capacity memory storage. With 32GB of built-in internal memory and dual 32GB high-speed Micro SD card slots, a total of 96GB worth of music files can be saved on the Astell&Kern.

This is Moon Audio's Silver Dragon Form Fit Digital Toslink Cable. We have made this Form Fit version in order to make it fit specific portable audio components with a smaller footprint.

The Silver Dragon Toslink has the band width to deliver upto 24bit 192k resolution as well as DSD signals.

The Silver Dragon Digital Toslink Cable includes: Gold Plated metal ends, metal ferrule protects fiber (it's not plastic like all the others) and its Fiber covered with 2 outer jackets (this is to prevent kinking).

2 versions are available for your preferences. A standard version and a Mini Toslink version for use with such products as Apple computers with Mini Toslink Digital outputs.
