First impressions The ZIIGAAT LUSH:
The ZIIGAAT LUSH Universal IEM
A 1DD X 4BA affair at $179.00
Designed for studio engineers and stage musicians:
1) Wild? A full range composite midrange BA, from focusing on 200Hz to 1kHz. This must hold the whole signature together, you can kind of hear the effect?
2) Extra micro details from the composite 2X treble BA.
3) A 10mm PET DD.
There are 5 drivers here a side.
Look I know it seems Linsoul puts out a Hybrid every other week. It is hard to keep up..........sure Kiwi ears is a sister brand. And what about Thieaudio, and the IEMs they make that look pretty much the same. Still my review with concentrate like I didn't have any IEMs, and had received the Lush as one of my first purchases. Still if I had 4.4mm DAPs I would need a 4.4mm aftermarket cable if I wanted to use 4.4mm amplification. The box opening experience is very sparse to say the least. But we do get a case, and the best part is the IEMs themselves are fully protected. Sure we get the regular ear-tips, but if you didn't have any other ear-tips, these would work. Oh and the cable, if you had to use the cable, then it would work out. We forget that here at Head-Fi we are not normal people, that we have other choices of cables.
Go into (if you're invited) 98% of houses in your neighborhood and ask if they have aftermarket audiophile cables.......nope will be the answer, in fact they wont even know what you are talking about, and ask you to politely leave!
And that is how ZIIGAAT sees it. That you do get 90% of the audio quality from the ear-tips and the included cable.
What about audio quality?
Where the money is in how they let the DD a PET 10mm hold the proverbial politeness here. What that does for me and probably you is leave the whole gambit of midrange and treble to come forward. The forwardness is liken to vividness, only it is not exactly vividness for sake if the word. No this is way too polished and careful of tune. The vividness is really the stage for starters............as nothing is offensive, but at the same time, nothing is boring here also. That is the magic here in one sentence!
Now this walking around boring takes a minute to perceive. Why? Because in this day and age, everyone wants out front-ness, noticeability and even character for character sake. Where the Luch is not really that colored, I mean the BAs have a taste of BA timbre, but on the best side of it. Hybrids are my favorite way to go, in fact I will forget about the extra-real timbre quality a full-range DD does on timbre, to get the stage and outward items of detail in a Hybrid. And that is what we have, small quaint releases of treble itemizations flourishing into existence, yet never stark or strident. The mids they walk that line of having exceptional vocals yet never too forward, or sitting back in the mix. This style in itself can come-off boring at first because we want spicy or fast food thrills. But no the taste of the Lush is just that on the most careful side of lush, the detailed side and the homogeneous side that includes everything. Even, complete and correct as terminology have never been used to describe an IEM better. What this means is below $200.00 you simply hear more, because there is room for all the frequencies to get along, no one layer is competing for your attention here.........really you get it all.
The simply smooth correctness has a way of drawing you in, only not at the first moment, or the first moment a reviewer like me that has heard a bunch can get thrilled by...........I have a deeper threshold to activate. Kind of like a drug user......needing a little more to get the fix. And that's the thing, after a moment or three the Lush starts to give the goods..........to where the stage even became bigger and fully itemized with more items of interest. With a subtle hi-hat lingering slightly outside the mix, and the fully competent bass taking and adding just the right amount of oomph here. To where sure Hybrids are my favorite way to go, but also the IEM shape and IEM weight and all-about ergonomics of the Lush take it also to the next level. My advise here, is make your first impressions about 30 minutes before you decide judgement, as there is more waiting and more to be found with the subtle and reserved of idea thats a signature! More to come in the full review as well as side-by-sides.
Cheers!
"Well, if I could be honest here, this is the best I have heard the brand do."
