I'm going to a head-fi meet in a week and I forgot one thing I need to improve my setup. The PCDP I'm using is the Sony D-25S but all I have is a cheap Radio Shack PS. I want to upgrade to a Regulated Power Supply or batteries for Sony D25S. The DC in port shows 9v. I've heard that Elpac power supplies are decent but I don't know which ones or where to get one. Or, if batteries are still available, where I might find them? I know a bunch of us have the D25S, hopefully somebody can help with an answer. TIA!

I bought my battery for my Sony D25S from Battery Specialist for $39.95. Sony BP-2X / BP-2EX

Works great. Actually, though, I think the machine works "better" when plugged in to the power supply. Just MHO.

I have, perhaps, a silly question.
I have the D-25s too without a battery, but I use a radioshack power supply.
My question is; does the battery recharge while connected to the powersupply...does it need the original power supply to charge ???

Yes, the battery charges when the power supply is plugged in to the unit. It has a flashing indicator on the front of the unit that quits flashing when the battery is fully charged. Any 9v power supply works fine as long as the current output is high enough (mine is 800mA out).

Austonia, are you coming to Chicago? I can bring you a Sony battery for your D25. I bought one - but I never use either of my units on battery power. Let me know!
