I just ordered a Dell Pentium 4 HT
3.2ghz 800FSB
1GB RAM
160gb HD.
132mb ATI Radeon X300
Win XP home.
Im basically using it for some gaming, internet, and as a music jukebox. I bought an Ipod last week and I like Itunes. I will be encoding everything in Apple lossless. I bought the generic crap soundcard which I plan on replacing with a chaintech. I would like to buy a cheap dac and integrated amp for music in my bedroom. Im going to use old Original Advent speakers (these sound great).
Will apple lossless be decoded by an outboard dac? Is there an FAQ for tweaking the Chaintech AV710? How about buying a seperate Hard drive for music only?
