Looking for any kind of headphones to replace my Denon AH-C551K, I've heard great things about so many headphones so I have no idea where to go. I just love my bass, and these headphones are starting to sound bad after I've been listening to a 5.1 speaker system rather than a 2.0 speaker system. I usually listen to these on the bus so good noise isolation/cancelling would be great, and portability would not really be an issue as I always have a backpack to put them into. What headphones or headphone/amp combo could satisfy my needs? My budget is probably around 150$ or less, I can go more if needed.

Any Headfi-ers got any suggestions for me? Thanks!

For Bass, the Klipsch S4s are a good deal at ~$79, but with Christmas coming up you can probably find it a little cheaper with sales. You will, probably get more suggestions, perhaps the Sennheiser IE 7? You can get it for less than retail online within your price range, it might have what you're looking for. Hopefully others can add to this.

I have the C551s, and they were tolerable initially. The only thing I really liked about them was the build quality.

What exactly sounds better in the 5.1 system as opposed to the 2.0 and headphones?

The bass now sounds really lacking on my headphones, and the sound just sounds like the sound isn't really that clear.

Will I hear a huge difference from the S4 over the C551? I'd rather spend more and get better phones. Will I hear a much bigger difference by buying the sennheisers?
