Greetings, so basically after a few years my AKG K702 rubber loops no longer retract anymore and are stretched out. I have already ordered and received the replacement loops from AKG customer service and was wondering if there is a guide or tutorial on replacing the loops themselves. Or do I just work backwards from the Service Manual on the AKG website.

I would have sent it to the AKG service center, but they were going to charge me $100 to replace the two rubber bands because my warranty is already up.

I have tried searching the forums, but have not been able to find any information besides contacting AKG for replacement parts. Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere. Thanks.

Hi!

I have the same problem with my q701. Yesterday I sent a message to AKG customer services, I hope they will answer soon, but I think I'll have to wait a couple of days because of the weekend.

Can I ask you, how much did the rubber bands cost? Have you found some information how to replace the rubber loops?

I purchased these used headphones a couple of days ago, but I think I could have get a better one if I pay a little bit more. But when I checked it, it looked fine... Next time I'll will be more cautious.
