Hey everyone. I'll be frank, I'm not completely sure what I need exactly lol. Here's what I've got equipment wise:

Schiit Vali 2
Schiit Modi 2
Beyerdynamic MMX 300 v2

Here's what I'm trying to accomplish. I'm getting into streaming on Twitch and I need the ability to hear myself in my headset. I used to be able to do this via windows drivers but my motherboard (ASUS Z270G) has extremely dirty sound and to combat this I've added the Schiit Stack. I've got the Schiit Stack setup and with music etc it sounds really great with these cans, however I need to find a way to route my voice into my headset via hardware and I'm unsure how on earth to do it.

I've been looking at mixers but I'm so lost I could use some help. At some point I'll be switching out the condenser mic that is built into my headset for a standalone mic that may or may not be USB.

TLDR: What do I need to do to hear myself in my headset while using an amp and a DAC.

You shouldn't need anything if it all plugs in :). Whatever your software is, enable input monitoring. In Protools, Logic, Reaper (reaper is essentially free and blows any audacity or other freeware out of the water), this is usually accomplished with a speaker-shaped button on the audio track. I would assume any other audio-related-recording-like software will give you this option.... This will cause (usually completely insignificant these days) some latency, as the audio is going from you -> ADC -> computer recording magic -> DAC -> your ears.

If you insist of hardware monitoring (you will not hear what the computer is recording as processed audio but exactly what is being piped out of your mic) I'd recommend a Focusrite USB interface over any mixer or board. the 2i2 is very affordable (~150) and has direct monitoring, great mic preamps for normal, non-usb :) mics, and industry standard DACs built in.
