Hi all. until now i used winamp to rip my cd's to flac, but i reinstalled my operation system again from scratch and i decided that i want to use only one programme for playing and ripping, i decided to give foobar a chance for ripping as it is a great player.
I know that a lot of you are going to suggest EAC but i don't care if my rips are not the most correct ones..I want an easy to use,one programme for ripping and playing.

I want to know this:
1. after I open a cd in foobar... what setting is the best (for most secure and correct) in the drive settings window? (offset correction and security level)

2.when foobar asks me to locate the "flac.exe" ,where can i find it? or..what path should i enter.

thanks for all the comments in advance

The offset should be listed on AccurateRip.com's website. If not, an AccurateRip-compatible program--like, say, EAC--should be able to find it for you.

You could use the paranoid security settings, but you'll pay a cost in ripping time. If you're not too concerned about the rip's accuracy, just disable security.

thanks. would it be ok to use the standart level in security...what is security means anyway? does it means error correction?

Foobar is looking for flac.exe because it cannot do the flac encoding on its own. Basically you just need to hit the official flac site to download the encoder, which I think is:

FLAC - download

Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong on the location!

After that just take note of where you install it and point Foobar to it when it asks. Good luck

I though that foobar already has the encoder already installed..?
