Hey all, not sure if it belongs in this section, please move it if needed.

I tried asking or Reddit to no avail.

I finally decided to go wireless, until now I was using DT 990 Pro 250Ohm with a DAC.

I am trying to decide between Steelseries 9X and Corsair Virtuoso XT. I've been doing dome basic testing with both and each has their pros and cons. I like that the Steelseries automatically switches the audio output when turned on and off, corsair doesn't. The 9X also has better bass response, Corsair sounds cleaner. Corsair is Dolby Atmos compatible, here's where I'd like someone to chime in how and if that is better in games, esp shooters where a good set will help you pinpoint the location of an enemy.

RTINGS scored the 9X higher. I just want some input from someone that has used one or both. TIA

Can someone at least point me in the right direction? I thought this was the Holy Grail of knowledge regarding anything related to headphones, what other forum could I ask this question on?

I would assume almost all headphones, are Dolby Atmos compatible?

I tried, my posts are just getting ignored here too.

Ahhhh, dang. Well, I will try to offer a suggestion. Of the two headsets you listed, the 9X and the Virtuoso XT, I think I'd have to go with the 9X. The Corsair is on the heavy side, and I think will get uncomfortable over time. The suspension headband on the 9X would be my preference.

As for Atmos, if you're on PC you can download the software for Win 10. It's not specific to the Virtuoso.

I am not a PC gamer. Most of my gaming is on PS5. I generally prefer Creative's SXFI for spatial sound. DTS Headphone: X is also really good, IMO. I have not tried Atmos for headphone or Windows Sonic.

My 2 cents.

Most here are looking for audio quality.

Based on what you are looking for, I would take it up on a gaming forum.

Steel series and Corsair are junk headphones. If you want something gaming but quality, go for an audio specific company. Not a gaming company. Audeze do media headphones. As discussed sennheiser eg. There is stuff out there.

Also, get any headphone you want, and tape a mic to it?
