I know this is unusual, but I need help checking the sound quality of my Grado HP-1000 that's been sitting in storage for years. I don't have any headphone equipment at all right now, and the ear pads have disintegrated. I've been out of the audio game. If you live in the Chandler, Arizona area and are willing to check this out, please let me know.

Just use your phone with a decibel meter app and a test tone generator you can find online like this one I use. Sweep through the frequencies jumping 500hz at a time and switch to left, then wait a sec and then right channel on the tone generator. It's a quick way to check for channel balance, which shouldn't vary more than .5db on each tone from one side to the other. Just place the phone mic in between them when it's quiet in the room.
