i'm checking out the iaudio G3 atm... it looks nice and has most of what i need, but the USB cable thing might be a pain to carry around.

is there a thread around that breaks down the good 512mb~1gb flash players? i'd rather you guys weren't repeating yourselves :P

i didn't want to make a new thread, but i'm now considering both the 1GB Creative Muvo Micro N200 and the Muvo TX FM.

my concern is the distinct "snap crackle pop" that many of the threads (eg breadnbutter's, as well as the 5 page review of the N200) have mentioned, something to do with the Sigmatel (?) chip being used. is the click indeed present in both the TX FM and the N200? i've also read that the updated firmware actually increased the frequency of the click in the N200.

would it still be worth getting either Creative player? if so, are there any reasons besides cost to get the TX FM over the N200?

This topic has been beaten to death. Check here: Creative European forums

Basically, although I don't own either of the Muvo, the impression I get is that the backlight noise, albeit unnoticeable to many users, are always gonna be there on every player. The clicks and pops are in many players as well (that seems to be the case anyway) and Creative has stated that they will develop a firmware to be released in late Feb that would fix this. Whether that statement has any truth in it no one knows.

The Muvo TX FM is different from the N200 in that the TX FM does not require a USB cable, you can plug it straight into a USB slot. Another fact would be that the N200 is smaller in size, and has line-in mp3 encoding, while the TX doesn't.

I am in the same situation as you, and was just about to buy the N200, but I think in a week or two I would purchase the Creative Zen Micro.
