Thanks all, I bought (from head-fi classifieds) a V-Moda M-80 for her in white.

Yes, it's a V-Moda... I know. But I got to support a community member and it checks a lot of boxes: small frame, mostly sturdy build, portable, within budget.

I've owned the Crossfade briefly, it was an ok headphone for what it was. In this case, no one cares about SQ but it's hopefully fun enough for her to continue exploring the hobby.
