Hey i currently have a cheap $100 sony cd player for my setup which i think needs to be replaced before i go and buy my grado RA-1 and 325 (that i think shows incredible detail). I found that i can get used MB-1s and MB-2s's for VERY cheap (under $100) and i was wondering the difference that would make from my sony $100 player that i got from sears.

Jump on it! If you don't like it, buy a lot of it, and finance your next mortgage! JK!

i havent actually demo the nakamichi at an audio store but a lot of the record shops uses nakamichi wall units as the player/amp for their headphones. I think it sounds pretty good, good clarity and plenty of power.

Nakamichi used to be the cat's ass for cassette decks but seems like they're more interested in lifestyle products these days. From what I've heard, their lifestyle systems aren't bad compared to other lifestyle systems but that's all I ever compared against.
