I understand that this is mostly a headphone community, but since I have had some very knowledgable responses in the past I thought I'd post my question here.

So I recently snagged an Arcam AVR450 (floor model) from Magnolia and I basically bargained and got it out the door for little less than half the retail price including taxes with factory warranty.
It just looked like too good of a deal so I jumped on it, without much research. I primarily listen to music with on my 2x Paradigm studio 20s, no surround sound yet(but plan to add that, which is why I was in the market for an AVR)

I was just curious to know people experience with Arcam AVRs or particularly the AVR450 if some ones has one.
Which DACs do they use? Are they in the league of these Sabre9xx/WM8741/AK44xx series of DACs or are they something custom made by Arcam.

My initial impressions with the amp as compared to the entry level yamaha A550, is night and day. The sound is very warm and full, its similar to my Rotel RA-1570, perhaps the Rotel migh be a little more warm.
But over all I'm quite impressed so far, but given this is my first AVR after almost 12 years, I was wondering if I made the right decision to go for this one?
Since the amp is still in the return period, would love to know if there are better alternatives for the 1500$ish price range.
