I've been away for a while. Life does that to you.

I recently moved to a cubicle at work, from a lab with pretty good audio isolation, so I have to live with headphones now. I have a set of DT770 headphones from the HifiManufaktur service they offered in the EU.

I've got a Chinese 6N3J buffer preamp, with a 6922EH Russian tube final PA.

My switcher is a dual dpdt relay controlled switch for full isolation, fed by the computer's soundcard (line audio out, and microphone in) and the telephone headset box. Here's the schematic:

It takes my headphones and microphone, and allows me to switch from the computer's audio to the telephone.

I won't say it's completely done, because I made the assumption that the headset box fully isolated both the microphone and earpiece, but it only isolates the earpiece. I'm going to put together an isolation transformer next week and be done with it. That only changes the schematic a little bit, and I'll update it when I'm done.

I'm consider the addition of an alien DAC as the audio source into the system instead of using the native soundcard, but the onboard sound actually sounds good.

What does the collective think?
