FINALLY!!!
today, I received my very own MG Head! I was able to get it in a trade with another headfier. My problem is I am at work and I won't be able to listen for another 7 hours! So, I guess my new friend will just sit and stare at me all day

I will post a review after I have had some time to enjoy it.

Alright, so I was up until 4:00 am listening and only got 2 hours of sleep. OMG!!! this amp is awesome! It is the dt model so I plan to do the wing mod this weekend. I will of course post a full review after the weekend. so far, MG head and HD 600's are the best sounding rig I have ever listened to.
I ordered a Power 3 cord and have a few tubes on the way. I guess next will be new cables for the 600s.

oh yeah, and MORE TUBES!!!

That's quite the statement! What else have you tried as an amp for the HD600? Curious since I am also in the market.

Luckily, HD600 works well with many amps. The Headroom Max, Home, and Cosmic are all great solid state amps, as is Meier Audio's Corda HA-1.

MG Head is probably the best value in affordable tube headphone amps with the HD600. Earmax Pro, Melos SHA-1, and RKV Audiovalve are higher-end tubed amps to consider.

The MicroZOTL can also shine with the HD600, but the word around here is that a little tweaking is necessary to pull it off.

Lots of choices. Tell us your budget, expectations, and listening habits and we'll fire off the suggestions.

Grado Sr 60, Sr225
Stax SR34, SR80, SR001 MK II
Bose Noise Cancelling
Sony MDR EX70
and lots of low end garbage!

Headroom Supreme
Headroom TAH
JMT Penguine cha47
sijosae CMOY
ASL MG Head

Up to this point, The MG HEAD and HD580/600 combo is far and away the best sounding combination. I cant wait do wing mod my DT and install a new power cord.

I get the feeling that the MG Head is a "gateway" amp; many people own it for a few years and then sell it when they can get a Melos or EMP...
