Mp3 player that works with thumbdrives

I have several thumbdrives I was given as presents in the course of time. Prices for flash memory have dropped enough that selling them all wouldn't be worth the trip to the post office to send them, so I was wondering if they could be used in a portable player.

We already have players that'll accept SD or CF cards, but are there any that can be connected to a thumbdrive and play files off that? Like the stereos, only hyper-portable. Internal memory is not needed, I just want them to read from the thumbdrive.

I believe Sandisk used to have a product called the Cruzer Micro mp3 Companion, but I believe it only accepts Cruzer Micro thumbdrives due to its shape. I haven't tried it, however, so I can't say much about its usability or sound quality.

Hmm. It'd be interesting to hack it so that it accepts all thumbdrives. Then again, it might be checking to see if the thumbdrive is a Sandisk..
